Abstract:

Purpose.
To improve the effectiveness of radiation monitoring through the development and implementation of a robotic complex that provides remote monitoring of the radiation situation and minimizes the impact of radiation on specialists.

Methodology.
The study analyzed domestic and international solutions in the field of radiation robotics, examined technical and software approaches to constructing such systems, and explored the potential for using modern sensor technology, navigation systems, and artificial intelligence algorithms.

Findings.
The most effective architectural and functional solutions for robotic radiation reconnaissance systems, ensuring autonomous operation in challenging radiation environments, have been identified. Practical implementation approaches for such systems, taking into account operating conditions in the Republic of Kazakhstan, have been substantiated. An algorithm has been developed for localizing sources of ionizing radiation based on the analysis of the spatial distribution of the radiation field, which improves the reliability of source detection under complex operating conditions.

Originality.
A structural and functional model of a robotic radiation reconnaissance system has been developed, integrating a mobile platform, an ionizing radiation measurement module, a navigation and positioning subsystem, and a control system into a single architecture designed to operate in environments with elevated background radiation levels. A mathematical framework for estimating equivalent dose rate has been proposed, which improves the accuracy of measurements in the case of a spatially non-uniform distribution of background radiation. The effectiveness of the developed system in enhancing the efficiency of radiation monitoring and minimizing the impact of ionizing radiation on specialists has been demonstrated.

Practical value.
The obtained results can be used in the development and implementation of robotic systems for monitoring radiation, enhancing personnel safety, and improving remote environmental monitoring systems.
